This Copyright & DMCA Policy explains how 5 Thousand Frames Films LLC, a Maryland limited liability company doing business as WedVeil (“WedVeil,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), addresses copyright infringement, copyright complaints, removal requests, counter-notifications, repeat infringement, and other intellectual property concerns relating to content available through the WedVeil platform.

This Policy applies together with the WedVeil Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and other applicable Platform policies.

WedVeil respects intellectual property rights and expects all users to do the same.

1. About WedVeil

WedVeil is an 18+ online information, discovery, communication, publishing, and professional workspace platform for couples and wedding professionals.

Users may publish or display content including:

  • portfolio photographs;

  • wedding photographs;

  • videos;

  • short-form videos;

  • Feed posts;

  • Wall content;

  • Real Weddings;

  • Journal submissions;

  • profile images;

  • cover images;

  • captions;

  • articles;

  • comments;

  • graphics; and

  • other user-generated content.

Because much of the Platform's content may be uploaded by users, copyright ownership and permission are important parts of WedVeil's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

2. User Responsibility for Copyright

Users are responsible for ensuring that content they upload, publish, display, embed, or otherwise make available through WedVeil may lawfully be used in the manner intended.

By submitting content to WedVeil, a user represents that the user:

  • owns the content;

  • has permission from the copyright owner;

  • has an appropriate license;

  • has another lawful basis to use the content; or

  • otherwise has sufficient rights to make the content available through WedVeil.

Users should not upload copyrighted material simply because it is publicly available online.

Public availability does not mean that copyright has been waived.

3. Copyright Ownership

Copyright ownership is generally determined by applicable law and the facts surrounding creation, licensing, employment, assignment, contract terms, and other circumstances.

WedVeil does not automatically determine copyright ownership simply because:

  • a photograph appears in someone's portfolio;

  • a person appears in a photograph;

  • a vendor worked at an event;

  • a vendor was tagged in content;

  • content appears on social media;

  • content contains a watermark;

  • someone possesses a digital copy;

  • a user claims to have paid for a service; or

  • a user uploaded the content first.

Where ownership is disputed, the parties may need to resolve the underlying ownership question independently.

4. Wedding Photography

Wedding photographs are frequently created by professional photographers and may be subject to copyright protection.

A planner, venue, florist, makeup artist, videographer, couple, or other wedding professional appearing in or associated with a wedding does not automatically own the copyright in photographs created by another photographer.

Users who wish to display third-party photographs should ensure that they have permission or another lawful basis to do so.

Where reasonably appropriate, proper photographer credit is encouraged.

Credit alone, however, does not necessarily replace permission when permission is legally required.

5. Wedding Videography

Wedding films and video clips may contain multiple copyrighted elements, including:

  • cinematography;

  • editing;

  • music;

  • graphics;

  • photographs;

  • voice recordings;

  • animations;

  • licensed stock footage; and

  • other protected content.

Users remain responsible for ensuring that their publication of video through WedVeil is legally authorized.

6. Music

Users are responsible for music included in their uploaded or embedded video content.

The fact that music:

  • was played at a wedding;

  • appears in a professionally produced wedding film;

  • is available on Spotify;

  • appears on YouTube;

  • appears on Instagram;

  • appears on TikTok;

  • was legally purchased; or

  • is available through a streaming subscription

does not necessarily give a user the right to reproduce or publicly distribute that music through WedVeil.

WedVeil may remove, mute, restrict, or disable access to content where appropriate in response to copyright concerns.

7. Third-Party Embeds

WedVeil may allow content to be embedded from third-party services such as YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms.

Embedded content may remain subject to:

  • the copyright owner's rights;

  • the third-party service's terms;

  • licensing restrictions;

  • takedown requests; and

  • applicable law.

The ability to embed content does not mean that WedVeil guarantees the content is lawfully available.

8. Portfolio Content

Vendor portfolios should primarily contain content that the vendor:

  • created;

  • owns;

  • licenses;

  • has permission to display;

  • participated in creating and is authorized to use; or

  • otherwise has a lawful basis to publish.

A vendor may display collaborative wedding content when authorized, but should not falsely represent another creator's work as the vendor's own authorship.

9. Collaborative Wedding Content

Weddings frequently involve multiple professionals.

For example:

  • photographers;

  • videographers;

  • planners;

  • florists;

  • venues;

  • decorators;

  • designers;

  • makeup artists;

  • hair stylists;

  • DJs;

  • musicians;

  • caterers; and

  • rental companies.

Participation in the same wedding does not automatically transfer copyright between vendors.

Users should distinguish between:

participation in an event

and

ownership of creative content documenting that event.

10. Real Weddings

A user submitting a Real Wedding must have sufficient rights to provide all submitted:

  • photographs;

  • videos;

  • descriptions;

  • graphics;

  • written materials; and

  • other copyrighted content.

The submitting user should accurately identify relevant creators where reasonably appropriate.

Submitting a Real Wedding does not transfer copyright ownership to WedVeil.

11. Journal Content

Users or contributors submitting content for the WedVeil Journal must not knowingly submit:

  • plagiarized articles;

  • copied photographs;

  • unauthorized graphics;

  • unauthorized video;

  • copyrighted editorial material copied from another publication; or

  • other content they are not permitted to publish.

WedVeil may reject or remove Journal submissions where copyright concerns arise.

12. Feed and Wall Content

The same copyright rules apply to Feed and Wall content as to portfolio content.

Short-form content is not exempt from copyright law merely because:

  • it is temporary;

  • it is short;

  • it is promotional;

  • it is posted on social media elsewhere; or

  • it contains a credit.

13. AI-Generated and AI-Altered Content

Users remain responsible for ensuring that AI-generated or AI-altered content does not unlawfully reproduce or misuse third-party protected material.

Users may not use artificial intelligence tools to intentionally:

  • reproduce another creator's copyrighted work unlawfully;

  • remove ownership attribution in a deceptive manner;

  • imitate another vendor's portfolio and represent it as genuine completed work;

  • misrepresent third-party copyrighted work as their own; or

  • evade copyright enforcement.

14. WedVeil Intellectual Property

This Policy also protects WedVeil's own intellectual property.

Except for User Content and third-party content, materials created or owned by WedVeil may include:

  • software;

  • source code;

  • branding;

  • logos;

  • visual design;

  • original graphics;

  • Journal materials;

  • databases;

  • editorial content;

  • text;

  • documentation; and

  • other original materials.

Users may not reproduce or commercially exploit WedVeil-owned material except as permitted by law or authorized by WedVeil.

15. Notice-and-Takedown Procedure

WedVeil intends to respond to valid notifications of claimed copyright infringement in accordance with applicable United States copyright law, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), where applicable.

A copyright owner or authorized representative who believes that material available through WedVeil infringes copyright may submit a written notification to WedVeil's designated copyright agent.

WedVeil may remove or disable access to material when appropriate after receiving a valid notice.

16. Before Submitting a DMCA Notice

Before submitting a copyright notice, the complaining party should consider whether:

  • the complaining party owns or is authorized to enforce the copyright;

  • the identified material is actually being used without authorization;

  • the use may be licensed;

  • the use may be authorized by contract;

  • the use may qualify for a limitation or exception under applicable copyright law; or

  • the wrong URL, account, image, or video has been identified.

DMCA notices are legal communications.

They should not be submitted merely because the complaining party:

  • dislikes the content;

  • competed with the uploader;

  • appears in a photograph;

  • wants content removed for reputational reasons;

  • disagrees with another vendor;

  • was not credited;

  • objects to criticism; or

  • wishes to manipulate another vendor's ranking.

Other WedVeil reporting procedures may be more appropriate for privacy, impersonation, harassment, trademark, or Community Guidelines complaints.

17. Required Elements of a DMCA Takedown Notice

To be effective under applicable DMCA procedures, a notification of claimed infringement should include substantially the following information:

1. Identification of the Copyrighted Work

Identify the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.

If multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notice, a representative list may be provided where legally appropriate.

2. Identification of the Allegedly Infringing Material

Identify the material claimed to be infringing or the subject of infringing activity.

3. Location of the Material

Provide information reasonably sufficient for WedVeil to locate the material.

Whenever possible, include the specific WedVeil URL, profile, post, image, video, Real Wedding, Journal page, or other identifying information.

4. Contact Information

Provide information reasonably sufficient for WedVeil to contact the complaining party, such as:

  • name;

  • mailing address;

  • telephone number; and

  • email address.

5. Good-Faith Statement

Include a statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, the owner's agent, or the law.

6. Accuracy and Authority Statement

Include a statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right allegedly infringed.

7. Signature

Include a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or person authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

18. Where to Send DMCA Notices

Copyright notices should be sent to WedVeil's designated DMCA agent:

DMCA Designated Agent
5 Thousand Frames Films LLC d/b/a WedVeil

Name of Agent: available through WedVeil Support
Email: info@wedveil.com
Mailing Address: available through WedVeil Support
Telephone: available through WedVeil Support

The designated agent information published here should correspond to the information maintained with the U.S. Copyright Office where registration is required.

19. Incomplete Notices

A copyright complaint that does not contain sufficient information may delay WedVeil's ability to identify or act upon the reported material.

Where appropriate, WedVeil may request additional information.

WedVeil is not required to guess:

  • which copyrighted work is involved;

  • which Platform content is challenged;

  • where the material is located; or

  • whether the sender has authority to act.

20. Action After Receiving a Notice

After receiving a copyright notice, WedVeil may:

  • review whether the notice contains required information;

  • locate the identified material;

  • remove the material;

  • disable access to the material;

  • request clarification;

  • notify the affected user;

  • maintain records relating to the notice; and

  • take other action reasonably appropriate under applicable law.

WedVeil's processing of a notice does not necessarily mean that WedVeil agrees that infringement occurred.

21. Notice to the Affected User

Where WedVeil removes or disables access to material in response to a copyright notice, WedVeil may notify the affected user.

The notice may include:

  • identification of the removed material;

  • information regarding the complaint;

  • instructions for submitting a counter-notification;

  • relevant contact information; and

  • other information reasonably necessary to explain the action.

Certain information contained in a copyright notice may be shared with the affected user as part of the legal notice-and-counter-notice process.

22. Counter-Notification

If a user believes material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification, the user may submit a counter-notification where permitted by applicable law.

A counter-notification is a legal statement.

Users should not submit one merely because they disagree with the copyright owner.

23. Required Elements of a Counter-Notification

A valid DMCA counter-notification should include substantially the following:

1. Identification of the Removed Material

Identify the material that was removed or disabled.

2. Former Location

Identify the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access was disabled.

3. Statement Under Penalty of Perjury

State under penalty of perjury that the user has a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.

4. Name, Address, and Telephone Number

Provide the user's full legal name, address, and telephone number.

5. Consent to Jurisdiction

Include the legally required consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States Federal District Court.

If the user resides outside the United States, the counter-notification should include the jurisdictional consent required by 17 U.S.C. § 512.

6. Acceptance of Service

State that the user will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notification or that person's agent.

7. Signature

Include the user's physical or electronic signature.

24. Where to Send Counter-Notifications

Counter-notifications should be submitted to:

DMCA Designated Agent
5 Thousand Frames Films LLC d/b/a WedVeil

Email: info@wedveil.com
Mailing Address: available through WedVeil Support
Telephone: available through WedVeil Support

25. Forwarding Counter-Notifications

Where a counter-notification satisfies applicable requirements, WedVeil may forward a copy to the party that submitted the original copyright notice.

By submitting a counter-notification, the user understands that legally required identifying information may therefore be provided to the original complaining party.

26. Restoration of Content

Where applicable under the DMCA, WedVeil may restore removed material after forwarding a valid counter-notification if the original complaining party does not timely notify WedVeil that it has filed an action seeking a court order restraining the user from engaging in the allegedly infringing activity.

Where the statutory procedure applies, restoration generally occurs not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after WedVeil receives a valid counter-notification, unless WedVeil receives notice that the complaining party has filed the appropriate court action.

WedVeil may continue to restrict content where another lawful reason independently justifies restriction.

27. Court Disputes

WedVeil does not adjudicate copyright ownership disputes.

If the parties continue to disagree after a notice and counter-notification, the dispute may need to be resolved by:

  • agreement between the parties;

  • licensing arrangements;

  • settlement;

  • the Copyright Claims Board where applicable;

  • a court; or

  • another legally appropriate process.

WedVeil is not required to determine which party ultimately owns the copyright.

28. False or Abusive DMCA Notices

Copyright procedures must not be used to:

  • harass competitors;

  • silence legitimate criticism;

  • remove content merely because it is unfavorable;

  • manipulate rankings;

  • retaliate against another vendor;

  • knowingly make false copyright claims;

  • fraudulently claim ownership; or

  • intentionally misidentify authorized material as infringing.

Users submitting notices remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of their representations.

29. Misrepresentations

United States copyright law may impose liability in certain circumstances for knowing material misrepresentations in a DMCA notification or counter-notification.

Users should therefore take copyright notices and counter-notices seriously.

WedVeil may take Platform enforcement action against users who knowingly abuse copyright-reporting mechanisms.

30. Copyright Reports Are Not Privacy Reports

Copyright ownership and privacy are different legal issues.

A person appearing in a photograph does not necessarily own its copyright.

If a complaint concerns:

  • personal privacy;

  • safety;

  • harassment;

  • private information;

  • non-consensual imagery;

  • impersonation; or

  • another non-copyright issue,

the user should use the appropriate WedVeil reporting mechanism instead of submitting a false copyright claim.

31. Copyright Reports Are Not Trademark Reports

A copyright notice should not be used solely to report:

  • business-name disputes;

  • trademark infringement;

  • counterfeit branding;

  • confusingly similar business identities; or

  • logo misuse where the claim is primarily trademark-based.

Trademark complaints may be handled through a separate intellectual property reporting process.

32. Repeat Infringer Policy

WedVeil maintains a policy intended to address repeat copyright infringement in appropriate circumstances.

WedVeil may track valid copyright complaints associated with user accounts.

Depending on the circumstances, WedVeil may:

  • issue warnings;

  • remove content;

  • disable content;

  • restrict publishing;

  • restrict portfolio functionality;

  • suspend an account;

  • terminate an account; or

  • prevent creation of replacement accounts.

33. What May Constitute Repeat Infringement

There is no single automatic number that necessarily determines every case.

WedVeil may consider factors including:

  • number of valid complaints;

  • seriousness of infringement;

  • whether notices concern separate works;

  • whether prior content was restored following counter-notification;

  • whether complaints were withdrawn;

  • whether the user had authorization;

  • evidence of deliberate infringement;

  • history of warnings;

  • user conduct; and

  • applicable law.

WedVeil seeks not to treat obviously invalid or abusive notices as equivalent to established repeat infringement.

34. Termination for Repeat Infringement

Where appropriate, WedVeil may terminate users who repeatedly infringe copyright.

Termination may occur regardless of subscription status.

Payment for a WedVeil subscription does not grant a user immunity from copyright enforcement.

35. No Refund Guarantee for Copyright Enforcement

If a paid account is restricted or terminated because of copyright violations, subscription handling will be governed by the Terms of Service and applicable law.

Copyright enforcement does not automatically entitle the user to a refund.

36. Removal of Individual Content

WedVeil may remove or disable particular content without terminating the entire account.

For example, WedVeil may remove:

  • one photograph;

  • one video;

  • one Feed post;

  • one portfolio item;

  • one Journal submission;

  • one Real Wedding;

  • one Wall post; or

  • another specific item.

37. Multiple Copyright Holders

A single wedding gallery or video may contain rights belonging to multiple parties.

A user should not assume that permission from one participant necessarily authorizes all protected material contained in the content.

38. Credits

WedVeil encourages users to provide reasonable professional credit where appropriate.

However:

credit does not automatically equal permission.

A caption such as:

“Photo by [Photographer]”

does not by itself establish the legal right to reproduce that photograph.

39. Watermarks and Copyright Information

Users should not intentionally remove or alter copyright management information in violation of applicable law.

This may include certain:

  • creator names;

  • copyright notices;

  • ownership metadata;

  • watermarks; or

  • rights-management information.

Normal Platform processing such as resizing, compression, formatting, or transcoding may technically alter metadata without intending to alter copyright ownership information.

40. Original Files and Evidence

Users involved in copyright disputes should preserve relevant evidence independently.

This may include:

  • original image files;

  • RAW files;

  • project files;

  • timestamps;

  • contracts;

  • licenses;

  • releases;

  • emails;

  • invoices;

  • assignments;

  • screenshots;

  • metadata; and

  • other evidence.

WedVeil is not an archival service for evidence relating to copyright ownership.

41. User Deletion Does Not Resolve Prior Claims

Deleting disputed material or deleting an account does not necessarily eliminate:

  • existing copyright claims;

  • legal obligations;

  • prior enforcement records;

  • valid notices;

  • repeat-infringer history; or

  • evidence that WedVeil is legally entitled or required to retain.

42. Record Retention

WedVeil may retain information relating to copyright enforcement where reasonably necessary for:

  • DMCA compliance;

  • repeat-infringer enforcement;

  • fraud prevention;

  • dispute resolution;

  • legal defense;

  • responding to lawful requests; and

  • maintaining Platform integrity.

Retention will be handled consistently with the WedVeil Privacy Policy and applicable law.

43. Privacy of Copyright Complaints

DMCA notices and counter-notifications may contain personal information.

WedVeil may process and disclose such information where reasonably necessary to:

  • process the claim;

  • notify affected parties;

  • comply with the DMCA;

  • comply with legal obligations;

  • resolve disputes; or

  • protect legal rights.

Users should not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in copyright notices.

44. Designated DMCA Agent

To the extent applicable to WedVeil's operation as an online service provider, 5 Thousand Frames Films LLC d/b/a WedVeil intends to maintain a designated agent for receipt of copyright notifications.

The designated agent's current contact information should be available publicly through WedVeil's legal pages.

Where required for applicable DMCA safe-harbor procedures, designated-agent information should also be maintained with the United States Copyright Office.

45. Designated Agent Information Must Remain Current

WedVeil should maintain accurate designated-agent information.

If the agent's:

  • name;

  • address;

  • email;

  • telephone number;

  • company information; or

  • other required information

changes, WedVeil should update the relevant public and Copyright Office records as required.

46. Designated Agent Renewal

Where applicable under United States Copyright Office rules, WedVeil's designated-agent registration should be renewed within the required renewal period.

The designated-agent registration should not be allowed to expire through administrative oversight.

47. No Automatic Safe-Harbor Guarantee

Publication of this Copyright & DMCA Policy alone does not guarantee that WedVeil qualifies for any particular statutory limitation of liability.

Eligibility for protections under 17 U.S.C. § 512 depends on compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

WedVeil intends to maintain procedures reasonably designed to comply with applicable requirements.

48. Standard Technical Measures

Where applicable under copyright law, WedVeil intends to accommodate and not interfere with qualifying standard technical measures to the extent required by law.

49. User Controlled Content

WedVeil may host content at the direction of users.

The fact that WedVeil provides:

  • upload tools;

  • storage;

  • formatting;

  • compression;

  • thumbnails;

  • transcoding;

  • profiles;

  • Feed distribution;

  • portfolio display; or

  • discovery functionality

does not mean WedVeil claims copyright ownership of User Content.

50. License to Operate the Platform

Users retain ownership of their content subject to third-party rights.

As provided in the Terms of Service, users grant WedVeil a limited license reasonably necessary to:

  • host;

  • store;

  • reproduce for technical purposes;

  • resize;

  • compress;

  • transcode;

  • display; and

  • distribute

content as necessary to provide the Platform functionality selected by the user.

This operational license does not transfer copyright ownership to WedVeil.

51. Content Removed by the Copyright Owner

A copyright owner who personally controls content through a WedVeil account may use ordinary Platform deletion tools where available.

A formal DMCA notice is not necessarily required to delete content from one's own account.

52. Content Posted by Another User

If copyrighted material appears in another user's account, the copyright owner should use WedVeil's copyright-reporting process rather than attempting to access, alter, or delete another person's account.

53. No Self-Help Account Access

Copyright ownership does not authorize a copyright owner to:

  • hack another user's account;

  • obtain another user's password;

  • circumvent security;

  • delete another user's files without authorization; or

  • interfere with WedVeil's systems.

Use the copyright-reporting procedure instead.

54. International Copyright Complaints

WedVeil may receive copyright complaints from copyright owners outside the United States.

The DMCA procedure is based on United States law.

WedVeil may also take appropriate action under other applicable copyright laws, court orders, or legal obligations.

Nothing in this Policy prevents WedVeil from responding to a valid non-U.S. intellectual property complaint where appropriate.

55. Differences Between Copyright Laws

Copyright rights, exceptions, moral rights, ownership rules, licensing principles, and remedies may differ between countries.

WedVeil does not provide users with legal advice regarding which national copyright law applies to a particular dispute.

Users should seek independent legal advice when appropriate.

56. Fair Use and Other Exceptions

Certain uses of copyrighted material may be legally permitted without permission under doctrines or exceptions such as fair use or other applicable limitations on copyright.

Whether a particular use qualifies depends on the facts and applicable law.

WedVeil does not automatically treat every use of third-party material as infringement merely because permission is disputed.

Complainants should consider applicable exceptions before submitting a notice.

57. Disputed Licenses

Some disputes concern whether a user received a license rather than whether copyright exists.

For example, a disagreement may concern:

  • portfolio rights;

  • vendor-sharing permissions;

  • social media permissions;

  • commercial-use rights;

  • duration of a license;

  • geographic scope;

  • sublicensing; or

  • termination of permission.

WedVeil may be unable to resolve complex contractual licensing disputes.

Such disputes may need to be resolved directly between the parties or through an appropriate legal process.

58. Clients and Copyright

Hiring a photographer, videographer, designer, or other creative professional does not necessarily mean that the client owns the copyright in the resulting work.

Users should consult their agreements and applicable law.

WedVeil does not assume that payment for creative services automatically transferred copyright.

59. Vendor Credits

Vendors are encouraged to accurately credit collaborators where appropriate.

However, disagreements about credit alone do not always constitute copyright infringement.

Where the complaint concerns credit rather than unauthorized copying, users should clearly identify the nature of the complaint.

60. Styled Shoots

Content produced during styled shoots remains subject to ordinary copyright and licensing rules.

Participation in a styled shoot does not automatically give every participant unrestricted ownership or distribution rights in every photograph or video.

Users should follow the permissions or agreements governing the shoot.

61. Stock Content

Users may publish stock images, music, video, templates, graphics, or other licensed assets only in accordance with the applicable license.

Users are responsible for ensuring the license permits the intended use on WedVeil.

62. Social Media Content

The fact that content was previously posted to Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo, or another service does not automatically authorize a different person to republish that content on WedVeil.

Users should obtain appropriate authorization.

63. Screenshots

Screenshots may contain copyrighted material.

Users remain responsible for lawful use of screenshots.

The fact that content can technically be captured from a website does not automatically make it free to republish.

64. Copyright Complaints Regarding WedVeil-Owned Content

If a copyright owner believes WedVeil itself has published infringing material, the copyright owner may use the same copyright contact information described in this Policy.

WedVeil may investigate and take appropriate action.

65. Platform Moderation Independent of DMCA

WedVeil may remove content for reasons independent of copyright law.

For example, content may violate:

  • Community Guidelines;

  • privacy rules;

  • safety policies;

  • anti-spam rules;

  • account rules;

  • applicable law; or

  • technical requirements.

A successful DMCA counter-notification therefore does not necessarily require WedVeil to restore content that independently violates another Platform rule.

66. No Guarantee of Restoration

Even where a copyright claimant withdraws a complaint or a counter-notification is submitted, content may remain unavailable if:

  • the uploader deleted it;

  • the account was terminated for another reason;

  • the content violates another policy;

  • a court order applies;

  • a technical issue prevents restoration; or

  • another legitimate legal basis supports continued restriction.
